ASK Scandivania is a Helsinki-based, female-founded, company creating sustainably produced bags and accessories.

The idea of ASK was born when two of us became mothers and could not find a sophisticated changing bag on the market, so we made our own. Supporting a sustainable approach to design, and life, we sourced our signature material — stitched Italian re-nylon that is not only stylish but also easy to care for and very forgiving — and found a factory that suits our values.

Today, we are a team of nine (based in Helsinki, Los Angeles and Berlin) with an ambition to create honest and sustainable products that span age, seasons and gender. As of 2020, all of our products are made with care in Northern Portugal.

Designed to last the time of change, both in quality and style, our products just might become your ultimate go-to’s. Our goal is to be a truly modern and conscious brand you can trust — a brand that acts with environmental responsibility — with a design goal offering you long-lasting high-quality products.

As we have learned on our way, a great bag is one way to keep your world in order and enjoying it fully. Our mission is to make everyday life more organised, beautiful and meaningful. Because having a great bag makes a difference, doesn’t it?

Each of our collections share the same sustainable core values. Our Ocean collection with ECONYL® fibre is made of 100% regenerated nylon fibre made from plastic wastes collected from the sea and other landfill waste. In March 2021 we launched a new exciting collection using DESSERTO®.

The Plant Leather Collection is made from cactus that is 100% sustainable and organically grown with rainwater and Earth minerals. All materials are vegan and cruelty-free. This collection is perfect from desk to dinner, sophisticated and sustainable.  

Deeply rooted in our values and actions is our philosophy #passitforward. That is why we use circular materials such as endlessly re-usable ECONYL® and DESSERTO® leather that are 100% recyclable and partially biodegradable, as is our mailer that we send every order in. We want as much of our materials to be made from recycled, upcycled, and re-usable materials as possible. We even re-use our excess material to avoid cutting waste and keep our production environmentally neutral. To truly provide longevity for our products, we offer our clients a repair service through our partners.

Part of our #passitforward philosophy is also philanthropy. We donate a percentage of our sales and physical bags to charities seasonally. The charities closest to our hearts are the seas and children’s well-being. Some of these charities include Hope ry and Mission Blue. Essentially, we want to pass good feelings forward.
