Fierce luxury with a rebel attitude

Robert Kalinkin is one of the fastest growing new generation designers from Lithuania. As  a successful set and stage creator for large-scale movies and concerts he launched his career by creating couture stage outfits and red-carpet gowns for musicians and artists of those projects.

He soon concluded that ready-to-wear was what he really wanted to create, ‘A contemporary collection that a strong, modern woman can wear right then and there – and feel powerful in it. It’s fierce luxury with a rebel attitude“.

Kalinkin describes his style as expressively raw elegance with a militaristic edge for a confident spin. The designer’s couture roots are evident in his fierce-luxe ready-to-wear line with the precision-tailored North-inspired coat being a must-have.

His AW 15/16 collection is inspired by complexity and vastness of space. Large, shimmering black beads on his signature style military jacket resemble stars, as do the clusters of black rhinestones between the shoulders of a sheer, flowing black top. There is a definite focus on outerwear. Coats have simple, modern lines but are constructed with complex panelling and come in diverse and unusual fabrics. It is rigorous, militaristic form of complex cuts and textures, bold details and thoughtful asymmetry.

The mood is edgy and strong but feminine as exemplified by a black, faux leather long-sleeved body and leather look leggings with raised criss-cross stitching. A futuristic grey neoprene dress with stitched detailing is reversible or can be worn back to front. The influence of the red carpet lives on in a gold and claret brocade prom dress, overlaid with black net and scattered with leather petals. Clusters of leather petals adorn a semi-sheer floor length shift dress in black or white.
