At Super

Since last September Super trade show has been moved from The Mall in Piazza Lina Bo Bardi (near Corso Como) to Padiglione Visconti in Via Tortona near Mudec Museum and White Show. I think this a very good location for Super which can enjoy from the people inflow from its neighbours.

My visit at Super was mainly to see the new location, do some scouting and meet some brands I already know and work with.

This year there are 108 women’s prêt-à-porter and accessories brands for fall-winter 2019-2020.

“Super is a buyer-oriented rendezvous” says Antonio Cristaudo, Commercial and Development Director.  “A useful and, at the same time, creative service tool for the most attentive Italian and international buyers who come to Milan to complete their purchasing campaign and capture the very latest trends in  women’s fashion.  We strongly believe in carrying out attentive research and selection in order to present the right balance between key companies in terms of product quality and strong brands in the world of capsule collections alongside the young designers that arrive from the world’s new creative scenes.

With regard to this last direction, we are presenting the latest stage of the Super Talents. New Countries to Watch project in collaboration with Vogue Italia and Vogue Talents, once again focusing on creativity from South America; we are also continuing with our recognition of the fashion scene in the East with a space dedicated to six young Armenian designers and brands in collaboration with the Fashion & Design Chamber of Armenia.  On the whole Super is a combination of stylistic collections and identities which I believe to be very exciting for buyers from multi-brand boutiques, online retailers and from the most innovative department stores: an experience that supports their research efforts and, at the same time, the development of new business opportunities.”

I did not have much time to check every single booth at Super but my attention was mainly for the Armenian section (see photo here above) showcasing at their first international debut: Vahan Khachatran, Kivera Naynomis, Ariga  Torosian and LOOM Wearing.
