Trend: peplum

Posted on
Definition of the word peplum:
– a short full flounce or an extension of a garment below the waist, covering the hips.
– a short skirt attached to a bodice or jacket.
First of all the peplum won’t make you like thin on the contrary it will underline even more your hips. Personally I don’t find it elegant, sexy, or anything special and it reminds me of something taken from the theater costumes.
Probably I like better a peplum on a top rather than on a skirt.
Peplum started to get popular about six months ago when some designers proposed it for SS collections but for this forthcoming season most of the designers have it in their collections.
You should watch this video where Jess Cartner-Morley, the Guardians’ fashion editor, explain how to wear it. I really like this video.
