Georgia Hardinge’s AW2012 ‘Inverted’ Collection progresses this season with her iconic three dimensional interpretations inspired by the work of revered artist Rachel Whiteread. Synonymous for her use of sculptural silhouettes and her modern aesthetic, the Autumn/Winter collection incorporates her innovative prints with minimalist design, fusing cutting edge with commercial appeal.

Hardinge’s Autumn Winter design elements reflect Whiteread’s concept of focusing on sculpture and negative space. Prints this season take inspiration from her signature resin cast techniques. Painted and manipulated coloured transparency is worked into with intelligent spirograph techniques to create contemporary geometric designs.

The colour palette is dominated by nude and highlighted with rich tones of jewel blues, burgundy, and a flash of citron taken from imagery of the Renaissance. These designs have been modernized  with the inclusion of intricate sewing techniques, combined with the use of sheer fabrics and Melton wool; giving a new sense of depth. This season also sees the introduction of Hardinge’s debut knitwear range. Creating a new dimension to the collection , this capsule line offers inventive patterns and shapes echoing elements from the ‘house’ project, which won Whiteread her acclaimed Turner prize.

Stocked across the globe, Georgia Hardinge’s contemporary collection offers aspirational and ready to wear designs for today’s discerning and powerful woman.
