von Holzhausen handbags re-define luxury through modern beauty and individuality. Designed by combining iconic shapes and artisanal construction techniques, the result is a collection that embodies clean lines, modern materials, and elements of surprise.
Fascinated with design at an early age, Vicki von Holzhausen chose an unconventional career in advanced automotive design to explore her passion for innovation. While working for Mercedes Benz, Audi and General Motors, Vicki quickly became a sought-after expert in the design of luxury products. Recognized in this typically male-dominated industry, Vicki’s design aesthetic awarded her many honors, including House and Garden’s “New Tastemaker” award. She was also credited for the interior design of both the top selling GM Solstice convertible as well as the sleek Pontiac Sky roadster.
After seeing many of her concepts on the road, Vicki left the automotive world and returned to her native Los Angeles with a new challenge in mind: to launch an accessory collection that took a fresh approach to luxury. Reflecting on her past experiences, Vicki infuses her premium handbag collection with innovation and an eye for detail. “The collection is all about seeing luxury in a new way.” describes von Holzhausen, “We use bespoke materials such as painted alligator, washed lamb, and distressed calf in unconventional combinations, making them more exciting and unexpected than what is typical for luxury bags. The textures and richness of materials such as Wenge wood and matte black metal hardware offer a new approach to traditional high-end collections.”
The von Holzhausen Collection debuted globally for Spring 2012. All von Holzhausen products are hand-crafted in Los Angeles, California by world class artisans.
