ZACARIAS1925 bags are hand-woven exclusively by S.C.Vizcarra, a workshop founded in 1925 in the Philippines by Creative Director Rita Nazareno’s grandmother, Segundina Vizcarra. Starting as a small atelier working on hand- made pineapple fiber became known all over the world.
She trained artisans, instilled the importance of craftsmanship, and her atelier thrived. Over the years, the workshop has evolved under the guidance of Segundina’s only child, Vicky. The family has always known the significance of exceptional hand-made products exporting globally ever since.
The artisans of ZACARIAS1925 have mastered the art of weaving luxury handbags and accessories. Many weaving methods and combinations are distinctive to the company. The design and production are all done in our workshop allowing personalization of items.
ZACARIAS1925 meticulously weaves by hand natural materials such as wicker, chaircane, water hyacinth, natural leather.
Current Creative Director Rita Nazareno – an Emmy Award-winning television producer with an MA from London College of Fashion – came back to the Philippines to work at the family workshop, bringing a new, dynamic and innovative perspective to a very traditional skill. Rita Nazareno’s interest lies in the alteration of an object’s form and function as well as the thrust to use ingenious design on the traditional skill of hand-weaving

ZACARIAS1925 launched in Europe in 2013 and has shown in Maison et Objet Paris, Pitti W Firenze, The Gallery Dusseldorf, London Fashion Week Designer Showrooms, Premiere Classe Tuileries, Milan Fashion Week, Manila FAME and IFFS in Singapore.
The brand has been featured in many printed and online publications including Vogue Japan, Collezioni, Le Monde, Town and Country, ELLE Decoration, Grazia UK.
