Mules

The shoe mush-have for this spring/summer is absolutely the mule. The same style was extremely popular several years ago, so we can say that the expression “what goes around, comes around” also works perfectly for fashion trends too.

Mule is a French word that describes a backless shoe usually closed-toed and can be either flat or heeled. Mule is consider a sandal just like a slide which is a backless shoe but usually open toe.

For me it is very interesting to learn the name of shoes in various languages so that you can compare them : for example in Italian the mule is called sabot which is a French clog.

My mule choice varies from high heels, to flats, to leather, to suede, to fabrics and much more. Which one is your favorite? Mine is the one by Sanayi 313.

Ballin: Black satin jewel mules, decorated with white crystals, with chunky heel in mirrored gold.

Cafe Noir: black leather mules with geometric metallic chunk heels.

Dries van Noten: richly beaded round-heel fabric mule.

Other stories: metallic flame suede mules and sparkling star studs.

Sanayi 313: metallic thread embroidery on the top as well as on the block heel.

Uterque: high heel mules in leather with a nappa finish. Toe cap in a different coloured leather.

Zara: fabric heeled mules with knots detail on the instep and block heel.
