Washington Roberts

This season, Washington explored the idea of graphic and geometric shapes through an African lens.  Using the Adinkra Symbol, “KINTINKANTAN” which translates to PUFFED UP EXTRAVAGANCE as the focal point, allowed the designer to lavish the Washinton Roberts woman in the splendour of Demi-Couture.

“Adinkra cloths” were traditionally worn only by royalty and noblemen, translating this element into wearerbility for todays woman was important during the development of our fabric this season. Collaborating with our Italian fabric weavers, we created custom geometric jacquard and a double face twill jacquard. Transformation, extravagance, and elegance personifies the inspirations behind the collection.
