My Milano Fashion Week

Posted on

Another Milano Fashion Week has come to an end or even better has come to a good end at least for me.

It is already a regular fixture spending a couple of days in Milan during one the most hectic weeks of the year – together with the February one.

This year the Milano Fashion week started on September 17th and finished on September 23rd. The official Camera della Moda calendar was really interesting, as usual, and busy with more or less 10 shows per day.

The fashion week offers the possibility, not only, to attend the most coveted fashion houses shows, but also many others venues all over the city: and this is my case. My main fashion goal is to meet new designers from all over the world and this is what happened last weekend.

This year, even more than last year, the sustainable and conscious fashion ideas were invading the city and all the events: The New Awareness at Corso Como, Green Carpet Fashion Award, Give a Fok-us at White Show, Vestiaire Collective with their vintage items and many many brands who are now investing to be greener.

It was really interesting to visit the Fashion Hub Market, located at Le Cavalerizze area at the Museo della Scienza e della Tecnica, and meet Thebe Magugu, the South African designer, who won the prestigious LVMH prize for young designers. Moreover there was an interesting selection of other African, Chinese, Hungarian designers.

But the event that really blew me away was Vogue Talents 10th Anniversary at Palazzo Cusani: an incredible display of the designers’s creations who have been scouting through these 10 years and have been able to take their labels to a higher step.

Next quick stop was at Super in Via Tortona to meet a section of Armenian designers and also 6 new accessories talents from all over the world chosen in collaboration with Vogue Italia and Vogue Talents.

Last but not least a visit to White show, one of the most important fashion trade fair: my attention was captured by the new designers from Belgium, Estonia, Brazil, Portugal and China.

See you in February!
