Valentina Sciumé graduated from the Accademia di Costume e di Moda of Rome. While studying she started training with italian fashion house Alberto Biani in 2007 designing the ready to wear collection for two Seasons. Afterwords she worked at Costume National in the design team for its first line and then spent two and a half years at Versace working on the production of Versace Collection and Versus womens accessories.

With a great professional background and a strong passion for accessories, she founded her label in 2012 and is now launching her first collection of jewels and millinery during Milan Fashion Week in February 2013.

It’s a dream and a life project that comes true reinterpreting the nostalgic style in a modern practical way, always respecting the italian tradition of handcrafted works.

For the Autumn/Winter 2013-14 Season, Sciumé introduces two collections: bijoux and millinery.

Both are made in Italy in leading factories using Italian materials.

The bijoux collection comes from a personal interpretation of antique jewels and has its own roots in the Egyptian culture, recalling that special mood and splendor in a new design expression, which combines the preciousness of shapes and materials with the ability of a handmade production.

They are made from the intersection of bras, which is the main material in gold and gun metal grey, crystal filigree and resin cabochon based on engravings.

The millinery collection is inspired by the cinematography shots of the most iconic actresses of all time.

Sciumé gives her own interpretation creating new shapes which fit in a modern and innovative style, so that an ordinary accessory becomes a cool piece of your outfit

This season’s luxury Italian fabrics are: silk velvet, mohair, angora wool, boiled wool, cashmere, felt. Specifically created for the cold places, each item is upholstered with double pile, lapin or synthetic fur.

The colour palette ranges from basic shades like black, grey and ice to vivid tones like plum, red, cobalt, blue, salmon.

Named after the inseparable duo’s university nickname – Blonde Brunette – Bionda Castana is a young British label on course for international expansion. Established in 2007 – and loved by Hollywood stars Elizabeth Olsen and Keira Knightley, and home- grown talent such as Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery – Bionda Castana prides itself on creating shoes that women can feel proud to wear and own.

Featuring recognisable signature studding, woven silk, sumptuous velvets, buckles, and opulent lace, each handcrafted Bionda Castana style is distinctive and unique – but is much more than just a wearable work of art. Born in Iran, educated in New York and working in Europe. The label’s Creative Director and Founder, Negarin Sadr, is an artist with a business mind.

As a trained sculptor and painter, Negarin conveys her message through cloth- ing. Her strength lies in the experimentation of shape with texture and prints. She likes to take her inspiration from traveling to inspirational cities all around the world.

During her time at Donna Karan, Negarin’s unique style emerged as she carved out a new fashion direction, where garments became practical and visual art. Determined to shape her newfound career path, Negarin trained with some of the most respected high end and high street fashion houses in Italy to gain valuable experience and connections for her own label.

Soon she discovered the gap for adaptable, visually striking and affordable clothing. A business woman herself and in need of a suitable wardrobe, she quickly recognized the potential of her concept. Negarin took this opportunity into her own hands and hence founded her label in 2011. Today, her inquisitive and exploratory nature brings a youthful, urban buzz with architectural aesthetic to women’s fashion.

Her approach to everyday luxury sees the very latest in high tech innovation cleverly concealed with fine attention to detail. Sophisticated tailoring creates sculp- tured garments and three dimentional depth to every outfit.

This season’s luxurious Italian fabrics combined with exotic prints put a fresh spin on timeless elegance for Spring Summer 2013.

For AW13, Negarin reworks Kerouac’s “Beat Generation” into a fresh, new concept. The collection takes inspiration from the underground, anti-conformist 50s/60s vibe so prevalent in the literature of Kerouac and John Clellon Holmes. Silhouettes are slim and art house & reminiscent of Jane Birkin’s sense of freedom. The mood of the collection lets the rebellious 60s girl play into the world of her preppy sister.

Coats are oversized, peacoats are shrunken, knits are sumptuous, shirt dresses work into Negarin’s timelessness and travelled versatility. AW13’s dynamic Beetle and Geometric prints epitomize the fun & quirkiness of the brand. As with all Negarin’s collections colours are vibrant and uplifting, with innocent neutrals meeting dynamic jewel-like tones to create a colour mood that works from day through night and takes the Negarin woman from one time zone to another.

Polo necks are updated with Negarin’s signature intarsia detailing which incorporates the geometric print and shirting is beautifully thought out.

Negarin’s tailored pieces combine with fluid to meet the needs of every working woman’s wardrobe. Coats and jackets are once again at the forefront of the collection combining easy silhouettes with perfect fits and a clever reversible twist.

DELADA_SS13--long-black-dressHaving previously owned and managed a contemporary art gallery, it’s no surprise that Delada’s founder Lada Komarova continues to be influenced by the art world for her SS13 collection.

Taking inspiration from modern artist and sculptor Teresita Fernandez, Lada has interpreted some of her most famous works into prints and silhouettes in the new Delada collection. The elements of fire and water as well as the idea of reflection and holding up a mirror to the world are explored in the works of Fernandez, and translated into the Delada pieces.

Combining razor-sharp tailoring with flowing fabrics, the collection consists of corseted dresses in flowing column silhouettes that are both elegant and avant-garde. Both flattering and aesthetically pleasing, the tailored separates are a mix of masculine and feminine: the perfect day-to-night wear for the modern woman.

Structure is juxtaposed with soft layering to create pieces that are sophisticated and covetable. Incorporating Eastern elements such as Kimono sleeves into the collection, Lada continues to re-define modern dressing. In shimmering silks as well as suede and leather, SS13 is another luxurious collection for the woman who is daring yet elegant.
