Bionda Castana

Created by two half-Italian Londoners – Jennifer Portman and Natalia Barbieri – Bionda Castana’s collections possess a perfect mix of London cool and Italian craftsmanship, making them completely irresistible to shoe lovers.

NB-JP

Named after the inseparable duo’s university nickname – Blonde Brunette – Bionda Castana is a young British label on course for international expansion. Established in 2007 – and loved by Hollywood stars Elizabeth Olsen and Keira Knightley, and home- grown talent such as Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery – Bionda Castana prides itself on creating shoes that women can feel proud to wear and own.

Featuring recognisable signature studding, woven silk, sumptuous velvets, buckles, and opulent lace, each handcrafted Bionda Castana style is distinctive and unique – but is much more than just a wearable work of art. As women creating shoes for women, Portman and Barbieri bring comfort to the fore of the design process, ensuring that looking good and feeling good are not mutually exclusive.

Stocked internationally and online at stores including Browns, Nordstrom, Saks, Moda Operandi, Isetan, Symphony Style and MY- WARDROBE.COM, Bionda Castana has already received global recognition: winning the Best New Accessories Designer award at the Who Is On Next/Vogue Italia event a year after its inception; and having been featured in publications including Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, The New York Times, Elle, Style.com and VOGUE.COM.

Negarin

Negarin-SS13

Born in Iran, educated in New York and working in Europe. The label’s Creative Director and Founder, Negarin Sadr, is an artist with a business mind.

As a trained sculptor and painter, Negarin conveys her message through cloth- ing. Her strength lies in the experimentation of shape with texture and prints. She likes to take her inspiration from traveling to inspirational cities all around the world.

Negarin-SS13 blue

During her time at Donna Karan, Negarin’s unique style emerged as she carved out a new fashion direction, where garments became practical and visual art. Determined to shape her newfound career path, Negarin trained with some of the most respected high end and high street fashion houses in Italy to gain valuable experience and connections for her own label.

Soon she discovered the gap for adaptable, visually striking and affordable clothing. A business woman herself and in need of a suitable wardrobe, she quickly recognized the potential of her concept. Negarin took this opportunity into her own hands and hence founded her label in 2011. Today, her inquisitive and exploratory nature brings a youthful, urban buzz with architectural aesthetic to women’s fashion.

Her approach to everyday luxury sees the very latest in high tech innovation cleverly concealed with fine attention to detail. Sophisticated tailoring creates sculp- tured garments and three dimentional depth to every outfit.

This season’s luxurious Italian fabrics combined with exotic prints put a fresh spin on timeless elegance for Spring Summer 2013.

For AW13, Negarin reworks Kerouac’s “Beat Generation” into a fresh, new concept. The collection takes inspiration from the underground, anti-conformist 50s/60s vibe so prevalent in the literature of Kerouac and John Clellon Holmes. Silhouettes are slim and art house & reminiscent of Jane Birkin’s sense of freedom. The mood of the collection lets the rebellious 60s girl play into the world of her preppy sister.

Coats are oversized, peacoats are shrunken, knits are sumptuous, shirt dresses work into Negarin’s timelessness and travelled versatility. AW13’s dynamic Beetle and Geometric prints epitomize the fun & quirkiness of the brand. As with all Negarin’s collections colours are vibrant and uplifting, with innocent neutrals meeting dynamic jewel-like tones to create a colour mood that works from day through night and takes the Negarin woman from one time zone to another.

Polo necks are updated with Negarin’s signature intarsia detailing which incorporates the geometric print and shirting is beautifully thought out.

Negarin’s tailored pieces combine with fluid to meet the needs of every working woman’s wardrobe. Coats and jackets are once again at the forefront of the collection combining easy silhouettes with perfect fits and a clever reversible twist.

Delada

DELADA_SS13--long-black-dressHaving previously owned and managed a contemporary art gallery, it’s no surprise that Delada’s founder Lada Komarova continues to be influenced by the art world for her SS13 collection.

DELADA_SS13-

Taking inspiration from modern artist and sculptor Teresita Fernandez, Lada has interpreted some of her most famous works into prints and silhouettes in the new Delada collection. The elements of fire and water as well as the idea of reflection and holding up a mirror to the world are explored in the works of Fernandez, and translated into the Delada pieces.

DELADA_SS13-beige-outfits

Combining razor-sharp tailoring with flowing fabrics, the collection consists of corseted dresses in flowing column silhouettes that are both elegant and avant-garde. Both flattering and aesthetically pleasing, the tailored separates are a mix of masculine and feminine: the perfect day-to-night wear for the modern woman.

Structure is juxtaposed with soft layering to create pieces that are sophisticated and covetable. Incorporating Eastern elements such as Kimono sleeves into the collection, Lada continues to re-define modern dressing. In shimmering silks as well as suede and leather, SS13 is another luxurious collection for the woman who is daring yet elegant.

SPRING SUMMER 2013 – THE IDYLLIC HOUR

The labels iconic floral prints explode over slinky silk in varying textures. Cherry Blossoms in both light and dark hues represent an English rose in an eastern world and how the two intertwine seamlessly.

Pops of lemon yellow on crepe-de-chine are the essence of summer and hammered silk dyed to dark raspberry pink and the deepest navy give tactility and elegance.

Kelly-Love-fuchsia-shorts

French lace collars adorn day to evening dresses and blouses, white- on-white pieces keep with the modern vintage look of past collections, whilst wide legged trousers float around delicate ankles with every luxurious step.

SS13 – The Idyllic Hour explores the love that we have for each other, the cities that we live in and how everything shapes us to be the people that we are……

Georgina Skalidi

Georgina-Skalidi-EAVE17

Georgina Skalidi was born and raised in Thessaloniki. At the age of 18 she began her studies at L.I.S.A.A College of Applied Arts in Paris, where she graduated with a degree in Fashion Design as a Stylist-Modelist.

Following her studies she relocated in Athens, and worked as a Fashion Stylist for major women magazines (Marie Claire, Gynaika and more), while also serving as Fashion Editor for OZON Magazine. Furthermore, her work has been published internationally in Iconique, UCE Magazine and German FHM. The decision to create her own line of handmade clutch bags – which she both designs and constructs – derived from her inner necessity to express creativity and sense of styling through her own work.

Georgina-Skalidi-EAVE14

Mentoring with leading Parisian and Athenian craftsmen equipped her with the knowledge and technical expertise to begin her own creative journey. Establishing from the very beginning her signature technique, Georgina Skalidi molds leather into clutch bags, where the excellence of materials and handmade production process is accompanied by a fresh, chic and architectural sense

Georgina with key reference to vintage and contemporary style, cut’s up and deconstructs the classic style of the clutch leaving unchanged its essence – resulting into something completely new. Always with an emphasis in geometry she cuts, alters and fashions almost like automatic writing on her bags.

Georgina-Skalidi-EAVE15

«My inspiration is experiential. Based on the way I decide to live each phase of my life, inspiration follows. Holding the leather in my hands, I am able to express the emotions of my reality by literally shaping it into my designs. I choose not to create in the conventional method, because a bag to me is a type of sculpture»

Currently, Georgina Skalidi runs two own-stores in Greece, one in the center of Athens at the area of Kolonaki and one in the town of Chania on the island of Crete.

The brand is dedicated in offering handcrafted designer goods at affordable prices uncompensated in quality and cutting edge design.
