50 dresses by Tess Vigil

Posted on

Designer Tess Vigil started 50 Dresses in May 2010, but her love of fashion spans her lifetime. Tess grew up in Denver, Colorado and attended Columbia University for college, studying art and Spanish. Immediately after graduation she moved to Los Angeles with Teach for America and taught English to 11-14 year old kids in South Central Los Angeles. After teaching for almost 5 years, Tess decided to dedicate her time and life to clothing design and fashion. Tess interned with a small apparel company in Los Angeles while taking pattern making and sample sewing classes. 50 Dresses was born when Tess buried herself in her basement and created 50 different dresses, honing her skills as a designer and dressmaker.

50 Dresses is in the third season, Spring 2012, and has been sold at a number of small boutique retailers including Ruche, ModCloth, and most recently, Fred Segal in Los Angeles. The 50 Dresses girl is contemporary and chic. The dresses offer beautiful affordable style and are all made in Downtown Los Angeles.

Constructed entirely of woven and natural fabrics, 50 Dresses appeals to the woman who wants to look and feel great!
